The best way to see how a color will look like, is to apply a paint sample on the surface that you need to paint.  Doing so will allow you to see how the color coordinates with the space and how the color reacts to the surface that you applied it on.

If you are painting a wall, it is also advisable to sample the paint on the corners of the room so you can see how the color looks under different lighting conditions.
